I think it would need to be compared with the land footprint of the refinery. You make a good point. In other words, the "dirty" part of the Lithium processing is at the mine, while the "dirty" part of the oil processing is at the refinery. | |

I understand that some lithium extraction involves pumping water underground to create a lithium-rich slurry, then pumping it back to the surface for evaporation, with the slurry just being left on the surface. Seems like this would take up a lot more land than an oil rig. | |
