I strongly agree that managing traffic flow is a really great way to improve air quality. I have thought, if stop-start tech was mandatory and law (or hybrid) then cars could be stopped at lights for longer and then left to travel for longer. This would improve air quality by getting cars to drive at speeds more optimal for fuel efficiency and pollution, reducing acceleration (which is known to be costly especially the way drivers drive) and reducing idling entirely. | |
