a resource that can be created or used over and over again without depleting the materials from which it is made.

Renewables is an umbrella term for resources that can be created and used without depleting the materials from which it is made. Examples are crops (provided growing them doesn't erode the soil) or wind energy, geothermal energy and solar energy. Water can also be a renewable resource but in many places on Earth it is used unsustainably by removing more water than can be replenished naturally.
